Victron Quattro 48/10000/140 230V
The Victron Quattro 10 kVA is a high-performance inverter/charger designed for demanding off-grid, backup, and energy-storage systems. It features dual AC inputs with automatic switching, seamless no-break power output, and full compatibility with three-phase, split-phase, and large parallel systems.
Description
Victron Quattro 48/10000/140 230V
Dual AC Inputs on the Victron Quattro 48/10000/140 230V
The Victron Quattro can connect to two independent AC sources, such as the public grid and a generator, or two generators. It automatically switches to the active source, ensuring uninterrupted power.
Two AC Outputs
The main output provides no-break functionality. The Quattro immediately takes over the supply to connected loads if the grid fails or shore/generator power disconnects. This transfer happens in less than 20 milliseconds, allowing computers and other electronic equipment to continue operating without interruption.
The second output activates only when AC power is available on one of the Quattro inputs. Connect loads that should not discharge the battery—like water heaters—to this output.
Split-Phase Capability With Quattro 48/10000/140 230V
You can create a split-phase AC source by connecting our autotransformer to a single-phase 240 V inverter programmed to operate at 60 Hz.
Three phase capability
You can configure three units to deliver a three-phase output. Furthermore, up to four sets of three 15 kVA units can operate in parallel, providing 144 kW / 180 kVA inverter power and 2400 A of charging capacity.
PowerControl – Managing Limited Generator, Shore, or Grid Power
The Quattro includes a powerful battery charger that can draw significant current from a generator or shore supply (for example, a 5 kVA Quattro can draw up to 16 A at 230 VAC). You can set a current limit for each AC input. Once you configure the limit, the Quattro monitors other AC loads and uses only the remaining current for charging, preventing overload on the generator or mains supply.
PowerAssist – Boosting Shore or Generator Power
PowerAssist builds on the PowerControl function by temporarily boosting the capacity of the external AC source. When your system requires peak power for short periods, the Quattro instantly supplements insufficient generator or shore power with battery energy. After the load drops, it automatically uses the spare power to recharge the battery.
PV Systems – AC Power Even During Grid Failure
The Victron Quattro 48/10000/140 230V works in:
-
Off-grid systems
-
Grid-connected PV systems
-
Hybrid setups with MPPT chargers or grid-tie inverters
It also supports loss-of-mains detection for regulatory compliance.
How to Configure a Victron Quattro
In stand-alone systems, settings can be changed within minutes using the DIP switch setup procedure. For parallel or three-phase systems, configure the units with VE.Bus Quick Configure or VE.Bus System Configurator software. When dealing with off-grid, grid-interactive, or self-consumption systems—especially those including grid-tie inverters or MPPT Solar Chargers—you can set up the Quattro using the appropriate Assistants, which are specialized software modules for each application.
On-site Monitoring and control
You can monitor and control the Quattro using:
-
Battery Monitor
-
Multi Control Panel
-
Color Control GX or other GX devices
-
Smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth Smart
-
Laptop or computer via USB or RS232
Remote Monitoring and control of Victron Quattro 48/10000/140 230V
When connected to Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX or other GX device can be accessed remotely. You can view data and adjust settings via the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, free of charge.
